** JAH PICKNEY IS ENGAGED TO BE MARRIED **
Jah Yout Productions is pleased to announce the engagement of Tim "Jah Pickney" Linnard and Marie-Eve Gobeil. Some may recognize Marie-Eve as the background vocalist on Jah Pickney's Ghetto Redemption CD, and as a member of Jah Pickney's Straight Steppaz Crew backup dancers.
Tim and Marie-Eve's engagement took place on August 11, 2007. Being the great romantic that he is, Tim took Marie-Eve on the Thousand Island Boat Cruise from Gananoque, Ontario to Boldt Castle on Heart Island, N.Y. There on a balcony, over-looking the gardens and the water, Tim asked Marie-Eve to marry him and she said "Yes, yes, yes, yes"! Their wedding is planned for June 2009. Imagine how God will use the combined music, drama and dancing talents of these two individuals, to create a powerful ministry team.

Jah Pickney has just recently completed the recording of his newest single Virtuous.
Jah Pickney wrote this song as a commitment to live a virtuous life for God and to remain sexually pure for his future bride. The song was written as a duet, and features his future bride, Marie-Eve. Reminiscent of a Degree & Crissy D. or D.J. Nicholas & Kerron Ennis combination, Virtuous combines Jah Pickney's tough dancehall vocals on the verses, and Marie-Eve's sweet, smooth vocals on the chorus and bridge. The couple sang the song for the first time LIVE at the largest annual Christian Caribbean Celebration in Toronto on Jamaica's Independence Day, August 6, 2007. Watch for this song to be available for download soon.
Trinity Western University – Jah Pickney will be performing at the Trinity Western University O-Week Kick-off concert on Sept. 6, 2007. This annual celebration is held outdoors on the grounds of the University.
Stitchie's Album Release Party – Jah Pickney is honoured to have been invited to sing, along with Stitchie, Lynette White, Inspector Lenny and others, at the release party for Stitchie's highly anticipated new album Real Life Story. The release party will be held at the Malton Church of God in Malton, Ontario on Oct. 13 2007.
Jah Pickney & Papa San – On Jamaica's Independence Day, August 6, 2007, Jah Pickney once again performed at the annual Christian Caribbean Celebration coinciding with Caribbana in Toronto. This event draws thousands who come to enjoy great Caribbean food and music. The concert always showcases top reggae artists from the Toronto area, as well as from Jamaica and around the world. Headlining this year was Jah Pickney and Jamaican dancehall great, Papa San. Jah Pickney treated the audience to the first live performance of his newest single, Virtuous, which features Jah Pickney's fiancée, Marie-Eve Gobeil.
Foundations Fund Raiser – Jah Pickney & his Straight Steppaz Crew and Manafest, a hip-hop artist from Toronto, were the featured artists for this July 28, 2007 fund raiser for the teen centre in Belleville, Ontario.
Canadian Gospel Music Conference – The first annual Canadian Gospel Music Conference was held in Ottawa, Ontario from July 13-14, 2007. The visionary and founder, Kathy Grant Mahon and her team of volunteers, worked tirelessly to plan, organize and deliver a top quality 2-day event. The conference began with a great evening of music, mime and dance, followed by a VIP party on the Penthouse floor of the beautiful Crowne Plaza Hotel, overlooking Canada's capital city of Ottawa. Jah Pickney was among the artists who performed at both of these events.
Canada Day Celebrations – Jah Pickney & his Straight Steppaz Crew entertained the crowds on the streets of Picton, Ontario during the Canada Day Celebrations on July 1, 2007. The great reggae music mixed with the aroma of jerk chicken BBQing, drew the crowds to the newly opened Palacious Juice Bar & Café. While customers enjoyed a mango/raspberry smoothie, they heard a clear gospel message delivered reggae style.
Holy Hype – The hottest gospel party in the city! Hosted by Markland "Action" Edwards from THE WORD on FLOW 93.5FM, this dancehall and hip-hop bashment featured Jah Pickney & his Straight Steppaz Crew, R.O.C.K., Jason Mighty, and all-you-can-eat FREE chicken wings.
2007 Shai Awards – Jah Pickney performed at the 2007 Shai Awards in Edmonton, Alberta, in order to introduce the new reggae/calypso/soca category to be added to the Shai Awards next year. Up until now, the Shai Awards has not had a category for the submission of reggae music, but the organizers have seen the growing need to expand the awards to include this genre of music. Jah Pickney's reggae vibes were very much enjoyed by the attendees at the awards on Jan. 25, 2007.
